My career began as a design major working for the Display and Fashion Office at Rich’s.  I then opened a business of my own, Granny Taught Us How, the first of Atlanta’s Craft and Cottage oriented shops. I left it for a few years, had two beautiful children, and in 1980 I opened The Flower Lady at Andrews Square.  The shop had an eclectic  garden feel and so did the flowers - none of the stiff overworked flowers of the past. Baskets, moss,  clear glass, pottery, and spools of French ribbons were paired with garden flowers and  designed  as if they were in nature. My grandmother loved to garden, and I was always drawn to flowers. Working with some of the country’s best interior designers and my wonderful clients over the years has given  me  the opportunity to design elegant weddings and parties in Atlanta, the U.S. and in Europe. The retail shop was closed in 2000 which has enabled me to  focus on being  a full service event design company.  We do the design work for dinner parties and special events that can be held everywhere from a ballroom to a barn.  Every detail is designed with the client or bride’s personality and style. We do a full range of design work from home design to parties and have been featured in a number of design and wedding magazines.
